Inertial Labs updated the way GUI communicates with the device starting with GUI version 3.0.0.0.
From now on, to view, change, and load parameters to the device it is required to read parameters from the unit first. Then, once all required changes are completed, the parameters need to be written to the device. For this, additional buttons were implemented. Please contact the Inertial Labs support team at support@inertiallabs.com for assistance with the GUI software update.
Connect the device to the computer and power it on. Choose the serial port number to which the device is connected and set the baud rate in the “Test options” menu.
To read the parameters from the connected device memory, use the “Read parameters” item under the Parameters menu (see Fig.2). Subsequently, all GUI menus become active, allowing users to view and modify settings for the connected device. An information window “Parameters were successfully read” will appear (See Fig.3).
The customer can see the list of changes for control after changing any device settings/parameters within the GUI . To do so, press “OK” button when the changes are complete, an information window “Do you want to see changed parameters information?” will appear (See Fig.4). Press “Yes” and “Changed parameters information” window will open (See Fig.5).
After changing any device settings/parameters within the GUI, customer must write them into the device memory so they make an effect. Otherwise, the changes will not be applied. To do so, use the “Write parameters” item under the Parameters menu(see Fig. 4). An information window “Parameters were successfully written” will appear (See Fig.5).
Suppose the customer forgets to write parameters to device memory after changing any device settings/parameters within the GUI and tries to start the device or close the GUI. In that case, the GUI will show a warning window that the parameters are changed but not written to the device. The customer can press the “Yes” button to save changes to the device memory. Please look at the examples of a warning window in Fig.8 and Fig.9.
