Inertial Labs Renews AS9100:2016 Certification

Certification covers Inertial Labs' Virginia and South Dakota facilities under the VIAVI Solutions quality structure.

PAEONIAN SPRINGS, VA — Inertial Labs, a VIAVI Solutions company, has renewed its AS9100:2016 certification. DQS Inc., an ANAB-accredited body under the International Aerospace Quality Group’s ICOP scheme, conducted the audit under AS9104/1.

The certificate lists Viavi Solutions, Inc. as the central function, with Inertial Labs’ two U.S. sites covered as organizational units. The Paeonian Springs, Virginia facility is certified for design, development, and manufacture of position and orientation tracking systems that combine inertial sensors with other sensing technologies. That covers the company’s INS, IMU, AHRS, and sensor fusion lines. The Rapid City, South Dakota facility is certified specifically for design and manufacture of high-performance, low-drift IMUs.

AS9100 adds aerospace-specific requirements on top of ISO 9001, including traceability, risk management, and configuration control. Many aviation, space, and defense programs require it of their suppliers before qualification.

The certification is valid until September 14, 2029. It was originally issued September 15, 2026, with registration number 31635585 AS0016A. The certificate’s validity can be checked through its QR code.

Inertial Labs makes inertial navigation systems, IMUs, AHRS, and GNSS-denied navigation solutions, including its RESEPI LiDAR, EchoONE, APNT, VINS, IRINS, and CheetahNAV product lines.
