Ruggedized GPS-Aided Inertial Navigation Systems (INS‑DM)
The INS-DM and INS-BM are the heavily shielded end of the Inertial Labs line — a super-ruggedized, EMC and EMI hardened enclosure carrying inertial navigation, attitude and heading reference, and an optional air data computer supported by two barometers. INS-DM is the dual-antenna variant; INS-BM runs a single antenna.
Four IMUs, one enclosure
Performance scales with the IMU you specify. The miniAHRS (M1) gives 1% DT free-inertial land drift and under 10 NMPH aerial. KERNEL-110 (E1) improves that to 0.2% DT and under 7 NMPH. KERNEL-210 (A1) reaches 0.1% DT and under 5 NMPH, with 0.5 deg/hr gyro in-run bias stability and free-inertial heading drift of 1 deg/hr. IMU-NAV-200 (N11) is also available on the ±450 deg/sec gyro range. Post-processed heading tightens from 0.05° to 0.015° across the range.
Navigation and heading
Dual-antenna heading resolves to 0.08° on a 2 m baseline, 0.15° on 1 m or single antenna dynamic. RTK positioning 1 cm horizontal, 2 cm vertical; PPK 5 mm; PPP TerraStar-C PRO 2.5 cm. Receivers include NovAtel OEM7720 and OEM719, Septentrio mosaic-H and mosaic-X5, and u-blox ZED-F9P variants.
Air data and interfaces
Three pressure port configurations reach airspeeds of 64, 310 or 800 m/s and Mach 2.5. Interface sets cover RS-232, RS-422, RS-485, CAN and Ethernet, with ARINC-429 available on the .123457 variant — a practical consideration for avionics integration.
Environment
Operating and storage -40 to +80 °C, altitude to 15,000 m, acoustic noise to 185 dB, IP67 sealed, MIL-STD-461F EMC, MIL-STD-1275 input protection optional. 160.4 × 141.2 × 61.1 mm, up to 1345 g depending on configuration. Commercially exportable.
